Is this Honda's all-new 2012 model CBR1000RR? Images were leaked by Honda Motor HK on Facebook overnight.

Images and a film of what’s believed to be Honda’s 2012 model CBR1000RR have been leaked on Facebook by Honda Motor Hong Kong.

The images show a revised version of the Fireblade for next year, but it doesn’t look to be a complete overhaul as some had expected.

Clearly visibly in the film (below) are new Showa suspension components including the Showa Big Piston Fork that we’ve previously seen on Suzuki and Kawasaki models in recent years. There’s also a new shock absorber fitted for the new year.

The images indicate brand new wheels, most likely lighter to reduce unsprung weight, however other chassis refinements are unclear at this point.

There is no sign of any electronic upgrades on the particular images leaked, with no visible additional switchgear buttons or wheel sensors to indicate traction control or similar.

European sources are suggesting that the engine will remain as is for next year as there are no external differences in the cases, however this is yet to be confirmed by Honda.

What has been given an overhaul is the styling, with the front fairing of the bike featuring a much sharper stance for 2012, plus the dash is a full digital unit according to the film released.

Stay tuned for more info as we find out.
