Motorcycle enthusiasts have the opportunity to support a worthy cause and go into the running to win a customised Motologic Honda CBR1000RR in the Steven Walter Children’s Cancer Foundation (SWCCF) raffle.

The SWCCF originated in 2001 as the Steven Walter Fund and was incorporated in March 2008 as part of a strategic plan to develop a significant, long-term fundraising capacity to benefit childhood cancer research in Australia.

Walter was a young man who died in 2000 at age 19 after battling an eight-year fight against cancer. One of his final wishes was for money to be raised for fellow cancer sufferers, with the SWCCF developing a vision of “100 percent survival for all children with cancer and prevention of their suffering”.

With the support of Honda Motorcycles Australia, the foundation is raffling the unique Fireblade, valued at $25,000, as part of its fundraising efforts.

“This is no ordinary Fireblade,” said SWCCF director Allan McGuirk. “It has spent quite a bit of time in the Motologic Honda Race Team workshop and has come out with a new coat of paint, graphics and plenty of other good looking bits.

“Paul Free from Motologic has put together a brilliant-looking bike with enough add-ons to make this ‘Blade look very special.”

Additional accessories include carbon swing arm covers, engine covers, rear sets, paddock stand pickups, clutch, brake levers and rim tapes all by SMART, along with Motologic paintwork, graphics, Puig screen and HRC seat cowl.

The CBR1000RR also boasts upgraded, Motologic-spec suspension both front and rear.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.snowyride.org.au (minimum of four), or by phone on (02) 9542 5885, fax on (02) 9545 5562 or email at [email protected].

The prize, which includes registration and on-roads, will be drawn at the Sydney Motorcycle Show on 17 November at 4.00pm.
