Experienced World Endurance regular Damian Cudlin delivered a vital top 10 to the world champion Suzuki Endurance Racing Team (SERT) at the 2014 Suzuka 8 Hours on Sunday alongside Erwan Nigon and Anthony Delhalle.

Cudlin was called into the team for Suzuka as a late replacement for Vincent Philippe, putting forward a consistent effort to take home a solid eighth overall – three laps behind the leaders – in Japan.

Eighth was the best of the Endurance World Championship teams and Cudlin is now hoping another opportunity arises in the future.

“This has been a very good experience for me to be in this world championship team. It’s my first race for the team and I’ve gained a lot more confidence with the bike and the team and got faster, so if they need me again, I am ready.”

After suffering a DNF at Bol d’Or to open the season, the result has boosted SERT to 10th in the world championship standings amidst a host of one-off Japanese entries.
