Australian Road and Track Rider Promotions (ARTRP) has announced the provisional 2015 Australasian Superbike Championship (ASC) calendar, which will expand to seven rounds next season.

The series will again include the Saturday-run Australian FX-Superbike Championship (AFX-SBK), before the premier ASC series takes centre stage on the Sunday of each event.

The expansion sees two additional round to be held at Sydney Motorsport Park including the high-profile season-opening round, a mid-season event and the finale to bookend the year, while Wakefield Park is reduced to just a single round next season.

The series will again return to Mallala for a second consecutive season featuring as round two, as well as regulars on the ASC schedule, Queensland Raceway and Winton.

According to a statement from ARTRP, the “calendar has been carefully arranged so nearly all rounds are either six or seven weeks apart to give competitors the maximum time between rounds”.

Also next season we will see the inclusion of a new standalone C- and D-grade big-bore category under the Formula Xtreme namesake, featuring multiple races each day albeit at selected rounds – potentially five or six. Further details to follow.

Additional announcements from the series organisers including the confirmation of an ongoing television package, race formats, sponsorships, transport packages, race support and more are due in the lead-up to next month’s 2014 season-closing round in Sydney.

The release of the seven-round ASC calendar confirms there are no clashes with Motorcycling Australia’s previously-announced 2015 Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) schedule.
