Falzon sails to PIC Supersport pole at grand prix

Falzon/Morris battle resumes on Friday at Phillip Island.

Reigning Australian Supersport Champion Daniel Falzon claimed pole position in this morning’s lone Phillip Island Championship Supersport qualifying session to open the 2014 Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix support action.

Falzon’s flying 1m36.922 lap was 0.303s faster than free practice pace-setter Morris, while fellow Yamaha R6-mounted riders Callum Spriggs, Ryan Taylor and Hudson Pitt complete the top five.

The opening eight-lap race of the weekend is due to commence late this afternoon at 5:35pm local time.
