Australia’s dual MotoGP World Champion Casey Stoner will return to two wheels in Japan on 29-30 October following a full year off the bike, returning to testing with HRC.

Stoner, who is attending the Australian Grand Prix this weekend with Repsol Honda, will provide feedback on the next generation RC213V and also evaluate Michelin tyres to be introduced in 2016.

“It was nice to test with Honda,” Stoner said of last year. “I felt bad almost leaving when I did and two of our tests last year got rained out, so that was not good.

“We’re going to do another test to make up for that and hopefully I can give some good information – I haven’t been on a bike for exactly a year when we do go to test so it’ll be a little strange.”

Stoner will take part in a two-day test at Motegi with the Honda factory, in which he won the second of his titles with during the 2012 season.
