Motorcycling Australia (MA) has taken its first major steps in reinvigorating the Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) today, rolling out a revamped new logo as the governing body marches toward the 2015 season.

Following five and a half years under the management of promoter International Entertainment Group (IEG), MA took control of the series midway through 2014 and has been working on a major overhaul of the series for the upcoming season.

MA will oversee the running of the championship via a five-member series management team, with events to be co-promoted by partnering clubs, and a five-round schedule has already been released in the lead-up to next year.

The updated logo continues withe the ASBK branding that was introduced by IEG during its tenure, while incorporating MA’s logo and Australia’s national sporting colours of green and gold.

Round one of the 2015 ASBK championship will be hosted alongside the Superbike World Championship opener at Phillip Island on 19-22 February.

It’s also recently been confirmed that ASBK riders will be eligible to contest the opening round alongside any potential WSBK wildcard entries and the series will be supported by MotoGP/WSBK commercial rights holders, Dorna Sports.
