Verdict:
Wayne Maxwell is the new champion, but it wasn’t easy by any means on his way to sixth overall on Sunday. Josh Hook was all class with two race wins, however the first race was stripped from him when he lined up in the wrong grid slot. In the end it was Troy Herfoss who claimed his first overall via a consistent effort, maintaining Honda’s perfect scorecard of round wins this season. Mike Jones had a standout weekend, backing up his Saturday race win with the second race victory on Sunday in a phenomenal performance from the rookie Kawasaki privateer. The racing was tight and various people stood up to the challenge when given the opportunity – especially with tyre allocation key across three races in searing conditions. Cru Halliday starred in race two for Yamaha, Rick Olson and Matt Walters were much improved, and plenty of the usual suspects battled hard within the top 10 positions.

Verdict:
Aiden Wagner’s finish to the season resulted in the championship, capped off by a slick performance at Eastern Creek. Establishing himself as a real star of the future, Wagner won all three races, only truly challenged in race two by Aaron Morris. The latter was just happy to win the R1 on Saturday as the FX champion. Meanwhile, Callum Spriggs rounded out the overall podium and a whole assortment of riders charged hard directly behind him.
