Team Honda Racing has confirmed the signing of Jamie Stauffer and Troy Herfoss for 2015, but is yet to announce the series the pair will compete in.

With Wayne Maxwell headed to Yamaha Racing Team and Josh Hook departing to ride for TSR Honda in Japan, Stauffer and Herfoss will ride the team’s factory CBR1000RR SP entries in a downsized operation.

“I am really happy to continue with Team Honda Racing in 2015,” Stauffer said. “The team is such a professional outfit and everyone gives 100 percent. 2014 was a great year on board the CBR1000RR SP and, although I missed out on the title and finished in second place, it really spurs me on heading into 2015 to make it my best year to date. I can’t wait to start the title challenge again and see what I can achieve.”

Herfoss will ride alongside Stauffer as part of the official factory effort in 2015, after being drafted into the team this year and finishing third in the Australasian Superbike Championship standings.

“I am really excited to be competing for Team Honda Racing again in 2015,” Herfoss commented. “I had a fantastic year this year racing with the team and the CBR1000RR SP is such a good package I can’t wait to get back out there and see what we can do next season.”

Team owner Paul Free anticipates another successful season in 2015 after sweeping this year’s ASC series.

“I am really pleased with the team we have put together for next year, both Troy and Jamie are exceptional competitors and our machine, the Honda CBR1000RR SP has proven itself this year as the bike to beat throughout 2015,” Free stated.

“Understanding your motorcycle is half the challenge for technicians when you are looking to get the best out of it and our team know the SP intimately. Beyond that we have a group of dedicated staff that enjoy and respect their positions in the competition and we all have the same desire to win.”
