Troy Herfoss (Team Honda Racing) – 1st overall:
What an awesome weekend after a long off season. We proved again that the Honda CBR1000RR SP is a winning package. I am so happy to leave Sydney with both championship leads and a pole position. Aiden was a pleasure to race with and pushed me hard all weekend. I am excited for round two already, we have to keep pushing forward while we are strong.

Aiden Wagner (Team Honda Racing) – 2nd overall:
I would like to thank Team Honda Racing for the opportunity firstly because without their help and great support it would not have been possible. Also, thanks to Troy and Jamie for their help over the weekend. It was such a great weekend and I am loving the CBR1000RR SP! I look forward to the future.

Wayne Maxwell (YRT with YMI) – 3rd overall:
I said to the guys after testing that if we could get out of there with a top five result then I’d be really happy. The lap times were competitive and everything else was okay, but we’re just a tiny bit away from where I’d hoped with consistency. The problem is we don’t have any knowledge or experience with the new R1M yet, so everything was such an experiment. When you have seven years of data with a motorbike then it’s easy to identify when you’ve got a problem, so for us on the weekend, sometimes we got it right and sometimes we got it wrong. We definitely got it right on the Friday when the conditions were favourable to us, but as it heated up on the weekend we struggled for a little bit of grip over the longer duration. We’ve just got to work away at that and we’ll only get better from here.

Cru Halliday (YRT with YMI) – 4th overall:
Finished fourth overall on a countback to my teammate in the opening round of the ASC. Today went pretty well, however we definitely have a lot of improving to do on the Yamaha R1M. As I have said previously, we need a lot more testing time. That will come, the bike will get better during the course of the 2015 season. I would have liked to have got third overall, however Wayne rode a smarter in race two and got me in the end. Yamaha Racing Team with Yamaha Motorcycle Insurance and I will go back to the drawing board; we have a two day test at Mallala before round two. A massive thanks to the whole team who have once again worked so hard this weekend, they really are a great bunch of guys to work with.

Sean Condon (BikeBiz/Ipone/Swann Insurance Racing Kawasaki) – 7th overall:
Very happy with overall results. Went into the weekend carrying a couple of niggling injuries and a chest infection and Sunday proved to be even more trying with an out of round front tyre in race one, forcing me to use qualifying tyres for race two where I suffered a lack of rear grip.

Supersport

Brayden Elliott (Suzuki) – 1st overall:
After our busy testing schedule in the lead up to the first round of the ASC at Sydney Motorsport Park, I felt quite confident heading into the weekend that we could achieve a good result. My goal was certainly to be on the outright podium in the Supersport class which I knew would be no easy task with a lot of very fast and capable riders within the field. Our qualifying result of sixth gave us a little bit of work to do ahead of the races. I knew the areas I could focus on that would help improve my position and fortunately I was able to carry that into Saturday’s races. It was an amazing feeling to secure my first outright podium at a national level in road racing, it’s something I have worked really hard towards for a long time and for it to happen in the first round of the season is a great way to kick start our year. To be able to carry my form through to Sunday’s races was incredible and more particularly to come away with the overall victory in the Swann Series for the round. It truly showed how our development and bike setup had paid off. I can’t thank my family, my sponsors and my whole support team, in particular Shawn Giles and Phil Tainton enough for their ongoing hard work and efforts in helping me become the rider I am today. I am really looking forward to hitting the track again and carrying this momentum forward.

Callum Alderson (Yamaha) – 16th overall:
Sundays races saw me starting from 18th position, which made each race just as hard as the other to work my way through the strong field of riders. In race one I got a reasonable jump off the line and make up two spots into turn one, which was a big improvement on previous starts! For most of this race I was on my own with a few seconds gap to the rider behind me and in front of me, but the FD Race Center suspension was aiding tyre life on the Dunlop control tyres and saw my lap times improve as the laps rolled on, where I then caught the rider ahead of me with two laps to go, then finishing in 15th position. After a good start and run out of turn one in race two I was left battling with four other riders for 10th position where I lead the group majority of the way through the race until on the exit of turn six I got hard on the gas and the rear let go and spat me in the air, thankfully I was able to stay on, having only 2 laps to go I was determined to make some of the places back, while also staying on the bike. Into turn two, two other riders went in a little hot and ran wide on the entry, thankfully I was able to get under 1 of them, while the other just got away. Regardless of the big near crash, I finished 14th and I was pretty happy with the result for this race as we knew we needed to find some more rear grip for the final race of the weekend. After a full on weekend and only just recovering from glandular fever, my fitness started to show and my left shoulder had weakened dramatically throughout the day which was not ideal for the final race of the weekend, where the four riders I was battling with in race two where able to get away as I had a race with myself to get the race finished. Even though my shoulder was weaker I set a PB on lap two, which was a massive thumbs up for my self and the team as we set a goal of 39s for the weekend and I was able to do 37s.
