Jamie Stauffer (Team Honda Racing) – Superbike, 2nd overall:
It’s usually no surprise to see Jamie Stauffer feature on the podium, however after a long time on the sidelines following his Phillip Island injuries, the seamless return of the multiple national champion was impressive. And not only did Stauffer finish second overall, but his final race win serves as a real warning shot that he will be right in contention for victory again at Sydney’s third round.

Ben Burke (SA Kawasaki BCperformance) – Superbike, 11th overall:
We saw the best performance of the year from Ben Burke at Mallala, battling amongst the field’s front-runners and beginning to show his real potential in the premier class. He was sixth in race one and seventh in the next, but a crash in the third outing denied him any chance of a strong overall result. Still, he made his mark and we took notice, as did many onlookers across the weekend.

Jay Presepio (Race Center/YRD/Northern Motorcycles Yamaha) – Supersport, 4th overall:
The South Australian local broke through for his first major win in race two on Sunday, marginally ahead of round winner Michael Blair in a tight two-part race. In a sign of just how close the competition was, he finished fourth overall on countback with 4-1-4 finishes, but the result will no doubt come as a major confidence boost, especially considering he started out the round from pole position on Sunday.
