Verdict:
With wins on both Saturday and Sunday, Herfoss met expectations much to the delight of his local fan base. It was an important result for the Team Honda Racing rider, stretching his ASC lead to 16 points with two rounds remaining, and he should be just as strong at Winton next time out. Allerton deserved second overall and starred with his assertive race two win, which also helped him narrow the points margin to within 10 points of YRT teammate Maxwell. It wasn’t an overly competitive weekend for Maxwell, but as he does, he scored a good bag of points across the three races, and he too is very strong at Winton. The likes of Jones and Walters also mixed it up at the front with great results, managing to finish ahead of factory rider Stauffer overall. And there were plenty of hard luck stories this time out, including Halliday, Condon and Burke, who all felt the effects of Saturday carnage in the mixed conditions.

Verdict:
This title should be going down to the wire, with Spriggs’ second consecutive round win inching him to within six points of Elliott in the standings. You can’t take anything away from the performance of Spriggs, but the fact that Elliott managed to claw his way forward from 10th on the grid, winning a race and finishing second overall indicates that he’s very much the class of the field as we speak. Blair joined them on the podium in a consistent effort, but it looks like it could be a two-horse race from this point in the series if Elliott and Spriggs continue as they are. The Saturday overall and Sunday race three wins were confidence-inspiring for Buckley, while it was a damaging weekend in terms of the title for competitive Kawasaki pairing Olson and Guenther.
