Australia’s Casey Stoner sat out Sunday’s second day of factory test rider running at Sepang, instead set to lap alongside the MotoGP regulars during the official pre-season test this week.

Stoner made a positive debut on the Desmosedici over the weekend, however yesterday’s development was left to Ducati factory test rider Michele Pirro after it was decided the dual world champion will ride between Monday to Wednesday.

After the team’s regular technical debrief on Saturday evening it was decided that Pirro should continue with the development work, while Stoner will be back out on track again on one of the next three days of official testing, together with all the other protagonists of the 2016 championship.

The opportunity to test this week will provide Stoner a more direct feeling with the Desmosedici and Michelin specification tyres, once increased MotoGP tyre rubber is laid down on the Sepang surface between 1-3 February.
