Australian rookie Josh Hook’s first year of World Superbike has been cut short following the decision of Grillini Racing to dismiss him in the opening half of the 2016 season.

Hook, who starred in his way to second at last year’s Suzuka 8 Hours, scored his first WorldSBK points with a pair of 15ths at Sepang last time out, but has since been replaced by Sheridan Morias.

“I am very happy with the arrival of Sheridan,” commented team owner Andrea Grillini. “From 2014 we have remained in contact and I finally managed to bring him back to WorldSBK. I also want to thank Josh Hook for his work done with the team and wish him luck for the future.”

Experienced South African Morais previously raced with the Grillini Racing team in 2014. He will race a Kawasaki ZX-10R for Grillini alongside his other commitments throughout the remainder of the season.
