Defending MotoAmerica Superbike Champion Cameron Beaubier plans to learn as much as he can while replacing Sylvain Guintoli at this weekend’s Donington Park round of the 2016 World Superbike Championship.

The Monster Energy Graves Yamaha rider will join the factory WorldSBK team on board the YZR-R1, marking his return to Europe after previously partnering Marc Marquez at Red Bull KTM in the 2009 125GP series.

“I feel really fortunate that the Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK Team is giving me this opportunity to be a part of the team for the weekend while Sylvain is healing up,” Beaubier said. “I’m also thankful that Yamaha US is allowing me to do this in the middle of our season! It will be a tough weekend with lots of learning, but I’m going to do my best and have fun!”

Alongside Beaubier it will be a challenging weekend for home rider Alex Lowes, the 2013 British champion suffering a broken collarbone at Sepang earlier this month. He’s since undergone surgery to repair the injury.
