Honda Racing’s Jason O’Halloran will be one of the major beneficiaries when the British Superbike Championship resumes at Knockhill this weekend, with the series reaching its busiest stretch of the season to date.

O’Halloran was third quickest at the recent Snetterton test and will enter this weekend’s Scottish stop of the series placed sixth in the championship standings following the first three rounds.

“We had a two-day test last week, which was good for us and we managed to test some new parts on the CBR,” O’Halloran commented. “I felt we took a huge step forward with the setting and also the feeling on the front of the bike and it was just so good to get back out there after the break.

“I’m going to Knockhill happy, we had a good outing there last year qualifying in fourth place and then ending the weekend with two fifth places, so compared to previous years it was a nice breakthrough there. We’re definitely in a stronger position this year with the feeling compared to last year and I’m arriving feeling comfortable and confident, but you can never chance it with a circuit like Knockhill.

“But I am feeling good and looking forward to the busy start of the season with races pretty much every two weeks now. It’s been a funny start with me missing half of last year, then three races to kick the season off and then the long break, so I’m looking forward to getting the next few rounds under my belt and collecting some vital points to move further up the Showdown and really secure a place there nice and early.”

O’Halloran will be one of three Australians on the grid this weekend as he and fellow regular Billy McConnell will be joined by countryman Josh Hook on the WD-40 Racing Kawasaki in his BSB debut, following an appearance at the Snetterton test.
