It was a clean sweep for Robbie Bugden who comfortably won all three Superbike races and took out the round overall aboard his SA Kawasaki BCperformance Ninja ZX-10R, extending his championship lead by 32 points.

Flawless was the performance of Bugden, the series leader who came into the Sydney round with some hesitation yet walked away more confident than ever saying, “It’s been a dream weekend for me. Coming down to Sydney, I know the competition is fast here so I’m happy to get one over them. The first race went pretty good, the 2016 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R is a great motorcycle and it really is a pleasure to ride. The SA Kawasaki BCperformance team have put a lot of work into it. We have it handling really well and the thing makes a lot of power. In the last race I got the holeshot and I went into the zone so I kept pumping those laps out.”

“We’ve topped every session this weekend. We are working really hard on and off the track and that shows with our progression and we are just getting faster and faster and I think we will all be pushing for that to continue in round five.”

“I’m really happy for my team, Kawasaki and all my sponsors so we will take a couple of weeks off now and then get back to work,” said Bugden.

Ninja ZX-10R teammate, Ben Burke was happy to take away two podiums out of three races with 3rd place in both races one and two and 5th in the final race. Ben’s performance placed him in 4th overall for the round and he maintains his 2nd place position on the championship leaderboard.

“I’ve taken good points this weekend and I look forward to the next round where I can go a little bit quicker,” Burke commented.

Kawasaki supported Mathew Walters unfortunately crashed out in the first Superbike race. Not to be deterred, Walters pushed on for 5th place in the second race and a 2nd place podium in the final race, making for 8th overall.

“It’s unfortunate about the fall in the first race but we made some repairs to the bike to get it back to where we were so I was happy to be on the podium for the last race. It wasn’t our best of rounds but we’ll try to make a bit of a come back and see how we go. The relationship with the Ninja ZX-10R is pretty good now and I’m getting more confidence with the bike the more I ride it,” said the Kawasaki Connection Cessnock rider who sits in 4th place on the championship leaderboard after round 4 today.

Supersport prodigy, Kyle Buckley rode his SA Kawasaki BC Performance Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R gallantly into 3rd place overall for the round after a challenging weekend of racing including a 15 second jump start penalty in the second race. Kyle persisted towards a podium in each race with 2nd, 3rd and 3rd in races one two and three respectively. The Queenslander has lead the Supersport class throughout the entire series and he is now in equal first place on the championship leaderboard.

“It hasn’t been an easy weekend. I was on the back foot in the first race from making a few mistakes and it just seemed to carry on from there. In the second race I wasn’t quite sure if I moved a little bit out of the box and I actually got a bad start so I didn’t get any advantages out of it, it just wasn’t my race but it was good riding to all of the competitors. The bike is great and we have the pace, it’s just that luck didn’t fall our way this weekend so we just have to recoup from here,” Kyle commented.

Kawasaki supported riders from both SA Kawasaki BCperformance and Kawasaki Connections Cessnock teams will set their sights on the next round to be held from 28th to 30th October at Queensland Raceway.
