Sydney success for Dunlop-equipped FX-ASC teams

Dunlop Tyres press release:

Round four of the 2016 Australian Superbike Championship (FX-ASC) was contested at Sydney Motorsport Park in New South Wales on 9-10 September, won by SA Kawasaki BCperformance’s Robbie Bugden for the second event in a row.

Series leader Bugden dominated the premier Superbike category – utilising Dunlop control tyres – across both the Friday Australian FX-Superbike Championship (AFX-SBK) races and Saturday’s trio of FX-ASC races, resulting in five race wins across the weekend.

The Friday event was led by the in-form Bugden ahead of Matt Walters (Kawasaki) and Ben Burke (Kawasaki), before the main Saturday series had Bugden take victory over Beau Beaton (Ducati) and Michael Blair (Yamaha).

Also using Dunlop across the board in Supersport, Kyle Buckley (Kawasaki) won the AFX-SBK round on Friday from Mitch Levy (Yamaha) and Sam Muldoon (Kawasaki), however on Saturday in FX-ASC it was Levy who got the upper-hand to win from Giuseppe Scarcella (Honda) and Buckley.

The Pro-Twins/Nakedbike round was won by Heath Griffin (Ducati) from Adrian Pierpoint (Aprilia) and Rick Fitzsimmons (Ducati) on Friday, before Beaton topped Saturday from Griffin and Darren Jones (Ducati) – the class all on Dunlop product. Meanwhile, Simon Galloway (Yamaha) won all five Formula Oz races across the weekend using Dunlop tyres.

Round five’s penultimate event of the 2016 Australasian Superbike Championship and Australian FX-Superbike Championship will take place at Queensland Raceway on 28-30 October.
