My Way

Greatest moment of your career?

Third in last season’s ASC Supersport championship.

Toughest race ever?

Probably Phillip Island 2017 WSBK/ASBK round one. We had some trouble in qualifying and I had to get past slower guys in every race. We had the pace, but we couldn’t use it properly, which was a frustrating way to open the season.

Long-term goal?

For now I want to win the Supersport championship here and might take up some offers elsewhere after that.

Favourite track?

Toss-up between Phillip Island and Sydney. I like both.

Arch-rival?

Nobody in particular. I‘m there to win, so they‘re all the same to me.

If you weren’t a racer, you would be?

Fighter pilot.

Greatest inspiration?

My grandfather.

Superstitions?

None. I don’t believe in that stuff, but I do have a thing where I always put on my right glove and right boot first.

Training methods?

Mix it up depending on what we’re up to – boxing and gym work are the main ones.

Off the Wall

Non bike-related hobbies?

Just about anything outdoors. If it’s got a motor or wheels, count me in. Been getting into water-sports a bit in the off-season, but my wakeboarding still sucks [laughs]… just ask a few of my friends.

What car do you drive?

Toyota HiLux.

What’s your preferred music?

Mix it up a bit. I like metal, but usually use something calmer at the races.

Best thing about racing in Australia?

No language barrier like overseas.

Who will win WorldSBK this year?

Honestly haven’t watched much, so can’t really comment.

How about MotoGP?

Viñales is looking good, but you can’t count out Rossi or Marquez.

First and Last

First bike?

PW50.

First proper injury?

Broken collarbone racing motocross as a kid.

First time you got in a fight?

Maybe grade one at school, I think playing footy. Beat him but!

Last holiday?

No such thing when you race!

Last big crash you had?

Sydney last year. Only one I had all year, but I felt that one for a bit.

One or the Other

Faster circuits or more technical circuits?

Either. Got to race them all, so I don’t overthink it too much.

Monster or Red Bull?

Whichever wants to invest an ounce of their sponsorship budget with me!

PC or Mac?

Never had a Mac, so PC it is.

McDonalds or KFC?

Neither. Avoid that stuff where I can.

MotoGP or WorldSBK?

WSBK. MotoGP should have a shake-up this year but.

Print or digital magazines?

Can’t remember buying a printed one, so digital I guess.

Blonde or brunette?

Can I have both [laughs]!? Nah, if she can pull off both, I’m a definitely a fan.
