Next Gen Motorsports Suzuki rider Ted Collins stormed to the Winton Supersport pole position at this weekend’s Yamaha Motor Finance Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) presented by Motul Pirelli.

Points leader Collins posted a new circuit best lap of 1m23.545s to lead Mark Chiodo (Triumph), who was quickest in Q2, and Sam Lambert (Yamaha).

In the opening Supersport 300 affair Jack Mahaffy (Yamaha) won comfortably ahead of Zac Levy (Yamaha) and leading Up To 300 entry Scott Nicholson (Kawasaki), while Oli Bayliss (Kawasaki) and Max Croker (KTM) crashed out of podiums in the late laps.

The YMF R3 Cup win this afternoon also went to Mahaffy, this time ahead of Cory Briffa (Yamaha) and Jack Passfield (Yamaha), who edged out Hunter Ford (Yamaha) for position).

And in the first of three GP Juniors Cup races for the round, an entertaining four-rider scrap took place between Tommy Edwards (Yamaha), Joel Kelso (Yamaha), John Lytras (Yamaha) and Ben Baker (Yamaha) – separated by just 0.320s and in the order at race’s end.
