Dunlop excels in Queensland Raceway Swann Super Series rounds

Dunlop Tyres press release:

Rounds three and four of the 2017 Swann Super Series took place at Queensland Raceway in Ipswich on 15-16 July where competitors hit the track to contest a variety of categories.

Supplying control tyres for the Superbike, Formula Oz (A), Supersport, Formula Xtreme (C&D), Pro-Twins and Nakedbike classes, Dunlop again serves as the official tyre of the Australasian Superbike Championship for 2017.

In the Superbike class it was Lucas Vitale (Kawasaki) who took top honours on Saturday trading race victories with Brad Swallow (Kawasaki) as Brendan McIntryre (Suzuki) rounded out the top three. Sunday saw Vitale again reign supreme as he captured the round four win with a 1-2-1 scorecard ahead of Swallow and McIntyre rounding out the podium.

The top spots in the Formula Oz (A) category went to Stuart Fripp (Yamaha) and Michael Edwards (Yamaha) as the two split rounds wins. Ryan Yanko (Ducati), Jean-Gabriel Laine (Yamaha), Tim Griffith (Kawasaki) and Hamish McMurray (Kawasaki) all emerged victorious in the graded Formula Xtreme class between Saturday and Sunday.

In the Supersport class it was Sam Lambert (Yamaha) who dominated much of on-track action in Ipswich as he rode to four race wins to capture the overall victories on both days. Lambert missed out on one race victory as Callum Barker (Suzuki) rode to the chequered flag in race three on Sunday to claim his sole win of the weekend.

It was Ryan Yanko (Ducati) who was unbeaten in the Pro-Twins division winning all six races over the weekend, while Adrian Pierpoint (Aprilia) also won both rounds of the Nakedbikes winning six out of six races.

“Dunlop is proud to once again be the official tyre of the Australasian Superbike Championship and we’re excited to see great on-track action throughout the opening four rounds,” said Dunlop national motorcycle manager Sebastian Mincone. “Congratulations to all of the competitors racing on Dunlop tyres and we look forward to continued success during the following rounds.”

The 2017 Swann Super Series will continue at Sydney Motorsport Park on 3-5 November for rounds five and six. Visit www.dunloptyres.com.au or find Dunlop Tyres Australia & New Zealand on Facebook and @ridedunlopau on Instagram for further information on the brand.
