Aruba.it Racing – Ducati’s Chaz Davies is aiming for a strong result at this weekend’s ninth round of the World Superbike Championship (WorldSBK) at Lausitzring, Germany.

Davies displayed promising form during a recent test at the venue in both wet and dry conditions, which has left the Brit comfortable and confident going into the weekend.

“During this summer’s test in Germany we were pretty fast as well,” Davies explained. “We also managed to ride in the wet, which is quite important, and we did some pretty respectable lap times in these conditions.

“We still need to confirm a couple of things we usually define over the race weekend, but in general I felt comfortable and I’m quite happy with the work that we did. So, I’m looking forward to getting back on the Panigale R on a track that I enjoy.”

Davies, who’s coming off a victory at Laguna Seca’s previous round, commented on the surface of the track, mentioning the bumpy layout offers different challenges in which he favours.

“Of course it’s bumpy,” he continued. “But if offers different challenges compared to other circuits – you can actually find lines around the bumps at Lausitzring.”

The Ducati rider currently sits third in the championship standings, 56 points behind Kawasaki Racing Team’s Tom Sykes.
