General: Motorcycle Expo to be one of the biggest ever

Organisers of the Australian Motorcycle Expo Melbourne are expecting the 26-28 November event to be one of the biggest on record with an overwhelming response to site sales at the mid-year mark.

The expo is set to expand with the addition of the Australian Scooter Festival and Australian PWC Show, making it a ‘must-see’ for fans of all things two wheels and personal watercraft.

As well as these new features, Event Manager Mark Petersen of Exhibitions and Trade Fairs suggested a number of new motorcycle models fresh from the EICMA world trade show were set to make their Australian debut at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

“Preparations for the event are gaining momentum on a number of levels,” said Petersen. “We have had an incredibly strong response from the industry rushing to secure exhibition space with over 60% sold to date, as well some hints from major manufacturers that some very exciting new bikes will be freighted direct from EICMA.

“The addition of dedicated scooter and PWC displays will make for our biggest Australian Motorcycle Expo Melbourne yet.”

An encouraging response from manufacturers and distributors will ensure a diverse range of new motorcycle models are on show.

The entertainment and attraction schedule looks set to be packed to capacity with the country’s top freestyle motocross riders locked in alongside the ever-popular mini moto displays, plus more to be announced.

Judges will determine the winner of the East Coast Custom Australian Custom Bike Championships presented by Heavy Duty Magazine and QBE Insurance, with a number of new entries set to go up against the winners from the Gold Coast Expo.

Amongst a number of giveaways, visitors will also get the chance to enter the competition to win a $40,000 custom chopper thanks to Australian Motorcycle Imports.

The new-look Australian Motorcycle Expo website (www.motorcycleshow.com.au) will be visitors’ online destination for all event details, news and exhibitor information and will grow in the coming months as more features are revealed.

The website will also provide visitors the opportunity to pre-purchase their entry tickets to the event.
