Aussie Troy Corser is confident he and BMW have made progress since Donington Park.
Australia’s dual Superbike World Champion Troy Corser is confident that he’ll make progress in this weekend’s third round of the Superbike World Championship following a positive test at Valencia recently.
The BMW Motorrad Motorsport team is preparing Assen’s WSBK round, with Corser looking to improve upon his 13th place in the rider standings on 16 points.
Information acquired during the Valencia tests has been used to develop solutions to allow Corser and teammate Leon Haslam to take another step forward.
“Assen is a fast and flowing circuit. You spend a lot of time leaning in bends, and the riders are subjected to enormous G forces,” Corser said. “In Donington Park we had some issues, as our tyres did not give us enough grip.
“We are working on solving this issue, so that we do not have to cope with the same problems in the next race. The circuit in Assen is known for its high speeds and some really fast changes of direction.
“For this reason it is very important to have the bike working well if we are going to battle at the front like we know we can.”
Corser’s third place on the grid at Assen was his second best Superpole result of the season in 2010, and he finished both races in fifth place – one of his most successful race weekends of the year.
