Australia’s Bryan Staring is content with his 12th place result during Friday’s opening Superstock 1000 FIM Cup qualifying session at Assen.
Staring was credited fourteenth place with a 1:42.840, before improving to a 1:41.391 come the afternoon timed qualifier.
“Today I enjoyed myself on this fast and technical circuit,” the reigning ASBK champion said. “We worked very well during both free practice and qualifying and improved the bike, but I need to find a better feeling with the bike and I’m suffering because of some chattering on the front wheel.
“I need more grip on the front and tomorrow we’ll work hard to solve this problem. Thanks to the team for their hard work that allowed me to be the first Kawasaki rider in the afternoon qualifying session.”
Staring’s Pedercini Kawasaki teammates Leandro Mercado and Marco Bussolotti were 18th and 18th respectively.
