DGS Ducati team owner Michael Fraser has confirmed that the team will enter Dan Stauffer in the Australian Superbike Championship from the Barbagallo round onwards in 2011.
Following a controversial disqualification due to ‘rule misinterpretations’ after Stauffer won the Formula Xtreme season opener at Eastern Creek last month, the team had been hoping to enter this weekend’s third round of the ASBK.
However the team isn’t on hand this weekend, and Fraser has since confirmed to CycleOnline.com.au via email that the team is on track for a Western Australian debut.
“DGS Ducati confirms that we will have Dan at [the] WA ASBK [round] and sorry for not making Hidden Valley due to not having the bikes ready in time,” Fraser wrote.
“DGS Ducati and Daniel are ready to contest the rest of ASBK series and looking forward to challenge ahead.”
The WA round marks the 2011 season’s first two-plus-four round of the year alongside the V8 Supercars.
