Marshals have been cleared following the crash between Rossi and Stoner at Jerez.

Marshals have been cleared of any fault following the controversial clash between Valentino Rossi and Casey Stoner at Jerez in Spain at the beginning of last month.

It was claimed that marshals favoured Rossi in helping him restart in the race, while Stoner had minimal help to re-fire his Repsol Honda RC212V.

While Rossi continued on to a fine fifth since his engine was already running during the crash, Stoner was forced out for a non point-scoring weekend.

After reviewing various videos of the incident between Rossi and Stoner during the race of the Grand Prix of Spain, and hearing the explanation from Jerez circuit director Juan Alvarez, the race direction has decided that the behaviour of the track marshals was safe and appropriate.

The race direction recommends the current rules be reviewed by the grand prix commission in order to study possible solutions that may results in better procedures.

Despite the race being almost a full month ago, the battle between Rossi and Stoner has continued in Portugal this weekend.
