Team Honda Racing’s Jamie Stauffer has enjoyed what could only be called a perfect weekend at round five of the Australian Superbike championships at Queensland Raceway.

After qualifying first in both sessions and taking the superpole win, Stauffer went on to lead from start to finish in both races, breaking his own lap record in the process.

“It was a great weekend and finally we have moved forward and got the result the team and I knew we could achieve before the year started,” Stauffer commented.

Stauffer and Team Honda found some great improvements in the front forks of their CBR1000RR after Friday practice, and it seemed to help in turning their championship hopes around.

“We took a little longer than originally planned, but to have won both races, taken Superpole and broken the Superbike lap record is definitely the way to turn things around!” said Stauffer.

“Hopefully we can continue the momentum into the next round and be racing for race wins for the rest of the year.”

Stauffer has now leapt to second in the series points, trailing series leader, Procon Maxima BMW’s Glenn Allerton by 56 points.
