Chris Quinn will be back on a Yamaha with YRD support for 2013.

Yamaha riders will again be prominent in the 2013 Australian Superbike Championship with three supported riders entering the series with significant additional support from the Yamaha Racing Development program.

Daniel Falzon, Aaron Morris and Chris Quinn will all contest the 2013 Australian Supersport Championships on their Yamaha R6 machines.

These three are some of the most promising riders in the 600cc category and for the first time receive huge support directly from YRT including bike and technical assistance, parts pricing, entries and a generous bonus program for good results.

18-year-old Daniel Falzon from South Australia is a defending champion in the class after his win in the 2012 season. Racing under the Jon Daniels Racing/Yamaha banner, Falzon is looking to replicate his 2012 success despite splitting his time between racing and his University studies where he is doing a Biological degree.

Aaron Morris returns to Australia full time in 2013 after dividing his racing in Australia and South East Asia for the past two years. Morris has a reputation as a hard charger and an aggressive racer who instantly made a name for himself by exploding onto the scene in 2010 and posting blisteringly fast lap times and shaking up the establishment. His Maxima/Yamaha team will race the proven R6 and are ready to go for the 2013 season.

Chris Quinn is a perennial top five runner in the ASBK Supersport series over the past handful of seasons. At 29 years of age, Quinn is one of the more experienced riders on the scene but brings with him a wealth of knowledge and race craft. Hailing from Lismore in Northern New South Wales, Quinn will be on board his Coopers Pale Ale /Yamaha R6 and out to make every post a winner.

“All three riders are talented in their own right and we look forward to guiding them through the 2013 season via the YRT Development program,” stated Yamaha’s John Redding. “Also, we again have Ian Irving overseeing YRT rider support program in both the ASBK and the FX championships. This program has proven to be very successful for Yamaha, the R6 and the successful riders.”

“For several years now, the Yamaha R6 has also been the weapon of choice in all ASBK 600cc racing categories and despite some changes to the rules this year, I again see it being a huge year for the R6.”

Yamaha Motorsport manager, Ray Howard is also impressed with the YRT development program and the riders assembled for the ASBK series.
