South Australian Daniel Falzon has won the opening race of round four of the Australian Supersport Championship this morning at Sydney Motorsport Park.

Falzon (Yamaha / Catterpillar EPSA / Yamaha) topped a frantic five-rider freight train across the line at the conclusion of the 12-lap race, leading home Michael Blair (YRD / Blair Build / M & C Plant / Campbells Building Materials Yamaha) and Ryan Taylor (Yamaha / Pirelli / Motul / YRD / SW Racing).

Aaron Morris (Maxima Yamaha / Ohlins / Arrow / Pirelli / RK Bell / Alpinestars) was fourth after running inside the top three for much of the duration, while Callum Spriggs (YRD / Allsite Concrete Cutting / XXX Rated Suspensions Yamaha) completed the top five.

Chris Quinn (Coopers Pale Ale Yamaha / Holmes Extractive Resources), Kyle Buckley (Motorcycle Accessory Shop / Yamaha / YRD / xxx Rated Susp. / LAE Racing) and Aaron Gobert (Wet 4 U Kawasaki / Bell / Alpinestars / Boulistic / Dunlop) were amongst the front group earlier on, before breaking into their own battle during the second half of the race.

Aiden Wagner (YRD / XXX Rated Suspension / Wagner Soil Testing Yamaha) was ruled out early in the proceedings with what looked to be a mechanical problem on his YZF-R6.

The opening Superbike race of the weekend is scheduled following the lunch break at 1:30pm this afternoon.
