Daniel Falzon (Caterpillar/EPSA/Yamaha) is the 2013 Australian Supersport Champion after wrapping up the title by finishing third in the final race of the 2013 season at Phillip Island.

With a 2-3 result Falzon finished third overall for the round behind dual race winner Aaron Morris (Ohlins/Arrow/Pirelli/PK Bell/Alpinestars/Five Gloves Yamaha) and Michael Blair (Blair Build/YRD/ Joe Groot Civil Yamaha).

“The whole season has been very surreal for us,” said Falzon. “We never expected to come into the Australian Supersport Championship and have the lead in every round. We were not taken over in the championship lead once this season.

“It’s unreal, I can’t comprehend what we have done this year, it’s just been fantastic. I have to thank all my supporters. My mum and dad, who do so much for me and all my sponsors.”

Taking two wins and the round win for the day was Morris, who once again checked out just like in race one and won by 12.859 seconds. He won the round overall to cement second in the standings.

Blair finished in second for the round to seal third overall in the title behind Falzon and Morris. Completing the top five for the round was Ryan Taylor and Hudson Pitt.

Kawasaki-mounted Aaron Gobert was forced out in the closing stages with a technical fault.
