One of the most entertaining battles of the year resumed today at Phillip Island’s opening race of the track-based Supersport series as Daniel Falzon beat-out Yamaha rival Aaron Morris by just 0.019s.

Falzon, recently crowned Australian champion in the category for a second time, was the class of the field with Morris right there in tow, displaying huge capabilities in front of an appreciative international fanbase.

Behind the dominant duo was Callum Spriggs in a lonely third over eight seconds in arrears, with Ryan Taylor fourth from Mitch Levy, who himself had a tight tussle with Hudson Pitt for position.

The Supersports will be on track again first thing Saturday morning, featuring their second race of the weekend at 8:15am to open proceedings.
