Australia’s Anthony West has been replaced by Mika Kallio on the QMMF Racing Team for the remaining five rounds of the 2015 Moto2 World Championship.

West, 34, was released by the team in favour of Kallio after finishing 15th at Misano on Sunday, currently 19th in the championship standings.

“Just [got kicked] out of my team. Looking for a ride or sponsorship for rest of 2015 or to start 2016,” a post from West on his official social media channels stated.

It’s been confirmed that Kallio has departed the Italtrans Racing Team following his crash out of Sunday’s race. He will commence testing for QMMF at Misano on Monday.

“This year’s bike, suspension, tyres combination made the season much more complex than I had imagined,” Kallio said. “I would like to try a different approach in the remaining grands prix of this year.”

Kallio will partner Julian Simon – fifth on Sunday in San Marino – on the QMMF Racing Team Speed Up across the closing rounds of the season.
