Home hero Robbie Bugden made it three-consecutive Swann Insurance Australasian Superbike Championship round wins in a row on Sunday to increase his points lead at Queensland Raceway.

The SA Kawasaki BCperformance rider won all three races at the penultimate round in commanding fashion, now carrying a 79-point lead into Sydney’s finale, which will pay double points this December.

Bugden was joined on the overall podium by Beau Beaton (Racer’s Edge Performance/Craig McMartin Racing Ducati) and Michael Blair (IPONE Yamaha), despite the latter crashing and remounting in race two.

Blair ended the round tied with Matt Walters (Kawasaki Connection Repsol), while Beaton’s teammate Craig McMartin filled the top five. Ben Burke (SA Kawasaki BCperformance) fractured his wrist in the incident with Blair during race two, putting him out for the round.

In Supersport Callum Spriggs (Yamaha) made a surprise return to his YZF-R6 and took the overall via 1-1-3 results, topping points leader Kyle Buckley (SA Kawasaki BCperformance) and Sam Muldoon (Kawasaki). The final race was won by Mitch Levy (Yamaha), however his chances of the overall were dashed with an overheated battery on the delayed race one grid.

Other overall winners for the round on Sunday included Broc Pearson (FX-300 Ninja Cup) with a clean-sweep for the newly-formed Alex Cudlin Motorsports squad, as well as Simon Galloway (Formula Oz) and Beaton (Pro-Twins/Nakedbikes) on double-duties.
