Fallen world champion's team will race-on with Bradl this weekend.
Red Bull Honda will line-up with Stefan Bradl at this weekend’s Donington Park round of the 2017 Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK) just days following the death of Nicky Hayden.
As fans, friends and family continue to mourn Hayden’s passing between the Italian and UK rounds of WorldSBK, Honda will showcase Hayden’s CBR1000RR SP2 in the pit box throughout this weekend.
“Obviously this is not going to be a round like any other,” commented Red Bull Honda technical director Pieter Breddels. “Everything we have been doing a million times at a race track will have a whole different meaning and feeling to it. We will all stay strong together and give our best support to Stefan, who has the hard task to go out there and give it all. And, of course, we will pay tribute to Nicky in the best way we know and we hope to make him proud.”
The Red Bull Honda team and series promoter Dorna will pay tribute to Hayden through various initiatives, including a minute’s silence on the grid at 2:00pm local time on Saturday, which will involve riders, teams and fans.
