Yamaha-mounted Lambert dominates Supersport category.
Queensland Raceway hosted rounds three and four of the revamped 2017 Swann Super Series last weekend, which saw Kawasaki’s Lucas Vitale claim victory throughout both days while strengthening his points lead in the process.
Vitale traded wins with championship rival Brad Swallow (Kawasaki) during round three, with the pair repeating results on Sunday’s fourth round, finishing first and second respectively, as Brendan McIntyre (Suzuki) strung together a sweep of third place finishes to be credited third on both days.
The Formula Oz class saw Stuart Fripp (Yamaha) and Michael Edwards (Yamaha) share wins between the two rounds, while Ryan Yanko (Ducati), Jean-Gabriel Laine (Yamaha), Tim Griffith (Kawasaki) and Hamish McMurray (Kawasaki) all captured victories in the graded Formula Xtreme class between Saturday and Sunday.
In the Supersport category, Sam Lambert (Yamha) dominated proceedings with two victories over the course of the event, being defeated just once by Callum Barker (Suzuki) in the final race of the weekend.
Taking on dual classes, Ducati-mounted Yanko went on to clean-sweep the Pro-Twins division with six race wins shared amongst the two rounds, with Adrian Pierpoint (Aprilia) demonstrating the same performance in the Nakedbikes, winning six out of six races.
The final outing of the Swann Super Series is scheduled for 3-5 November, at Sydney Motorsport Park in New South Wales.
