Jorge Lorenzo has highlighted that the Red Bull Ring circuit that will host the 11th round of the MotoGP World Championship this weekend is the ideal venue for his Ducati Desmosedici GP18.

The multi-time world champion, who’s surged into form over the last three months, detailed the excess accelerating points and heavy braking characteristics of the 4.3-kilometre track favour the Italian MotoGP machine.

“If I had to indicate an ideal circuit for the Desmosedici, I’d probably chose the Red Bull Ring because our bike adapts very well to this track, which has a lot of acceleration points and heavy braking areas, and it’s here that we can make all the difference so I’m very confident for this GP,” Lorenzo explained.

“I’m really motivated to get some great results but, even though everyone says we are favourites for the victory, we’ll have to see how the weekend goes because the weather will be changeable and it could also be a determining factor for the race.”

With a recent number of podiums and strong finishes, the Spaniard sits fifth in the championship standings, just eight points shy of Ducati teammate Andrea Dovizioso in third.
