Ducati’s factory MotoGP pairing of Andrea Dovizioso and Cal Crutchlow have completed a two-day test at Misano in preparation for the Grand Prix on San Marino on 14 September.

Dovizioso and Crutchlow were joined by Pramac Racing’s Andrea Iannone – the rider who will join the factory squad alongside Dovi in 2015 – and test rider Michele Pirro across Monday and Tuesday.

Dovizioso took part in one and a half days’ testing at Misano with a best lap of 1m33.91 in 116 completed, concluding his test schedule early on Tuesday afternoon.

“I am really satisfied after two days of testing: we went well and we are confirming the improvements we have shown in the last couple of races,” Dovizioso said. “Here I lapped about one second quicker than last year’s pace and so that’s a positive result.

“We’re working well and we managed to complete all the scheduled tests. Now we’re going to Silverstone and then we’ll be back here at Misano for the race in mid-September. After these tests I am very optimistic and I feel we’re on the right path.”

Meanwhile, Crutchlow only went out on track in Monday’s sessions before returning to the UK to undergo checks on his left shoulder, which was still painful after his crash during the Czech Republic GP at Brno two weeks ago. He completed 85 laps with a quickest of 1m34.45.

“The test yesterday at Misano was quite positive because we were able to work on the base settings and the pace was pretty good,” Crutchlow said. “Now I have to go back to the UK, where on Wednesday morning I’ll be having some checks on the shoulder I injured at Brno, but despite this I’m really looking forward to racing in front of my home fans at Silverstone this weekend.”
