Recall of KTM 1290 Super Duke R of model year 2020 - 2022: Improvements to main wiring harness

KTM Australia press release:

KTM recalls KTM 1290 Super Duke R models of model year 2020 – 2022 to the workshops of authorized KTM dealers in order to improve the main wiring harness.

As a result of continual product development, the routing of the main wiring harness has been improved on the aforementioned models. Chafing areas are to be avoided on the main wiring harness, and for this reason cable ties and a frame cover need to be retrofitted.

Customers to whom the affected motorcycles have already been delivered are informed by a personal letter and are asked to immediately contact an authorized KTM dealer to arrange an appointment for the retrofitting. This does not apply to importer markets.

In addition, customers can check online in the “Service” area on the KTM website if their motorcycle is affected by the recall.

The improvement of the main wiring harness can be carried out by authorized KTM dealers only. This retrofitting is a free-of-charge service for customers performed under warranty.
