The application period for the 2015 Shell Advance Asia Talent Cup has drawn to a close, with a huge list of more than 700 hopeful candidates now waiting to hear whether they will be shortlisted to participate in the pre-selection event.

The pre-selection event will be held at the Sepang International Circuit from 27-28 October 2014 after this year’s Malaysian MotoGP round.

Hundreds of applicants from Asia, Australia and New Zealand submitted their applications before the 5 September deadline, hoping to participate in the second staging of the competition.

The Shell Advance Asia Talent Cup is an exciting youth development competition which was launched for 2014, acting as a feeder series to the world of motorcycle racing.

The 2015 project has expanded to include candidates from Australia and New Zealand, with young riders from both countries having applied to take part, in addition to applicants from Afghanistan, Brunei, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

The most talented riders who make it through from the 2015 pre-selection event at Sepang will race in the second edition of the Shell Advance Asia Talent Cup next year. Riders shortlisted for the pre-selection event are to be contacted and announced shortly.
