The future of Australia’s lone current MotoGP contender Broc Parkes could be decided as soon as next week, with details emerging that he is considering a return to Australian competition.

Following a bruising home grand prix last weekend, the 32-year-old Aussie confirmed he is considering options in the Endurance World Championship, British Superbike, German IDM and even Australia.

Parkes has been heavily linked to a second Paul Bird Motorsports team in the BSB in 2015, but also has a longstanding relationship with the Monster Energy Yamaha Austria Racing Team (YART) in EWC and won the Australian FX-Superbike Championship for Yamaha in 2013.

“It’ll be nice to have something to go to for next year and I’m hoping to have it all sorted in the next week,” Parkes told Crash.net. “I’m talking with everyone in BSB and talking to teams in the Australian and German Superbike championships, so I’m talking with everybody at the minute.

“I think that people understand what the bike is like and when you have good results the team’s can appreciate it. I think that it’s been good doing the endurance stuff as well, because I can show that I have good speed and I can show that I can ride a Superbike.”

Parkes will depart MotoGP next year upon the exit of PBM from grand prix racing, following a single season in which he has scored seven points with two races remaining.
