Yamaha rider Callum Spriggs has fired the first shot on the 2015 Australasian Supersport Championship, claiming the Saturday pole position today at Sydney Motorsport Park.

Spriggs rode his YZF-R6 to a 1m34.169s lap in qualifying to lead Michael Blair (Yamaha), with Troy Guenther (Kawasaki) and Brad Swallow (Yamaha) close in tow – all within a second of the pole time.

In Formula Oz it was Paul Byrne (Honda) who topped the timesheets as the lone rider inside the 1m33s bracket over veteran gun Phil Lovett (Kawasaki), with Mitch Paynter (Kawasaki) and Simon Galloway (Kawasaki) completing the top four.

The new C- and D-grade Formula Xtreme ‘Superbike’ class was topped by Michael Witchard (Kawasaki), while Angus Reekie (KTM) was first of the Pro-Twins/Nakedbikes and Luke Burgess (Kawasaki) set the FX300 Ninja Cup pace.
