Spaniard Dani Pedrosa is running out of options as he battles intense arm-pump, revealing the issue could force him out of upcoming MotoGP World Championship rounds.

The Repsol Honda rider was a lowly sixth in Qatar’s opening round, frustrated with unmanageable forearms to the point that he will have to assess his options moving forward.

The extent of the 29-year-old’s difficulties have caused him to admit that this is “probably” the most difficult challenge of his career to date. A two-time 250cc World Champion, Pedrosa has been with Honda’s factory outfit since 2006.

“Tonight’s race didn’t go to plan and unfortunately I had serious problems with my right forearm which isn’t good news for me,” Pedrosa explained. “I worked very hard over the winter in order to find a solution, because I was suffering in every race last season.

“Every doctor recommended that I not undergo another operation and I have tried to look for alternatives, but by the looks of things nothing is working positively for it. Now I have to assess my options and see what I can do.

“It is probably the most difficult moment of my career. I will do my best to find a solution, but in this moment it is difficult to imagine what it could be. I cannot continue racing and perform in this way.”

Speculation is already mounting in the paddock that HRC is evaluating replacement options for at least the upcoming races in the 2015 title chase.
