TSR Honda’s Josh Hook has continued his promising run of form in the 2015 All Japan Superbike Championship, finishing seventh in round two at Autopolis on Sunday.

Hook, who was sixth at Suzuka the weekend prior, was again impressive at Autopolis, overcoming set-up challenges to score another top 10 result in his first full season of Japanese competition.

“The race was quite difficult for me,” Hook reflected. “The track temperatures were higher than what we have had all weekend and I think that played a massive part in tyre selection as far as compounds and constructions go.

“We got off to a really good start and in the first two laps I was about fifth, but just didn’t have the pace in the race to go with the front guys. I was there, there abouts, but the bike wasn’t working quite as good as we’d planned and I think we went the wrong way in tyre choice.

“But that’s part of racing, it’s a massive learning curve for me and the guys are super-fast. The team is stoked with the result, so step by step we’re moving forward, which is great.”

Hook has now returned home to Australia for three weeks between rounds two and three, which will take place at Motegi on 31 May.
