Front row start for Herfoss heading into Swann Series

Round three strong for Team Honda Racing so far in Sydney.

Team Honda Racing press release:

Troy Herfoss will line up on the front row tomorrow in the Swann Insurance Australasian Superbike races with team mate, Jamie Stauffer on the second row in P8 after a solid day’s racing at Sydney Motorsport Park for the AFX-Superbike Series.

From his P3 grid position today, #3 Herfoss took 3rd in both 14-lap races and is confident he will be fighting for race wins tomorrow. “Today went fairly well although I would have liked to have been first across the finish line of course. I raced consistently and we are making a couple of subtle changes overnight so I am looking forward to tomorrow’s Swann Series races. It was great to get another podium finish and extend my championship lead.”

#2 Jamie Stauffer is more than ready to take it to the field tomorrow after a jump-start penalty in Race 2 meant he had to forego his very convincing race win. “Today went pretty well although the jump start penalty is particularly frustrating since I lead for much of the race and crossed the finish line first. Still, I am pleased with the headway we made with the set up of the CBR1000RR SP and starting from P8 on the front row is not the end of the world. I feel strong and the bike is where I need it to be so we will see what tomorrow brings.”
