Queensland’s Mike Jones will be looking to further extend his lead in the Australian Superbike Championship lead at this weekend’s fourth round of the series at Symmons Plains in Tasmania.

While Jones has competed in Tasmania during years gone by, it will be the first time for him aboard the Australian Outdoor Living – Cube Racing Team Kawasaki ZX-10R.

“I’m looking forward to racing at Symmons Plains in Tasmania this weekend with the Australian Outdoor Living – Cube Racing Team,” Jones said.

“It’s a circuit that I’ve ridden a couple of times before and I like the layout. Although it’s going to be an exciting challenge as I’ve never ridden the Superbike around there.”

The latest round of the Australasian Superbike Championship saw Jones pick up a race win during Sunday’s events and that result has certainly helped to increase further confidence in him ahead the trip to Tasmania.

“I’m feeling confident after finishing on a high at my home round a couple of weeks ago in the Swann Insurance Australasian Superbike Championship,” he added.

“It was a mix of results at Queensland Raceway and a small mistake cost me some valuable points on Sunday, but I was stoked to come away with a win in the final race.”

Jones carries a 29-point lead over reigning Australian Supersport Champion Daniel Falzon entering round four of the season this weekend.
