Motorcycling Australia (MA) has revealed there will be a major announcement regarding the future of the Australian Superbike Championship on Friday, 20 November, at the Sydney Motorcycle Show.

The announcement will come from show host Troy Bayliss, of Troy Bayliss Events, and MA board member Peter Goddard at 1:20pm almost directly following the official show opening.

“The series consolidated in 2015, the success of which laid the foundations for a new direction for the long-term future of the sport,” a statement from MA said this afternoon.

Speculation has been rife that Bayliss could have an involvement in the ASBK series – both from a promotional and team standpoint – next year, however the extent or confirmation of either has yet to be detailed.

Troy Bayliss Events currently operates Australia’s major motorcycle expos, the annual Bayliss Classic dirt track, Invitational GP at the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix and Head2Head EnduroCross events, staged at the Sydney show this weekend.
