British-based Australian Benjamin Currie is celebrating a debut victory in the 2016 British Supersport Championship following his Sprint race success at Oulton Park.

Currie starred in wet conditions on Sunday to score a popular win, however a crash in Monday’s Feature caused a premature ending to his weekend.

“It was an up and down weekend for me, literally,” Currie reflected. “The Sprint race was perfect though. I made a good start, kept chipping away and eventually caught the leader, passed him to grab my first ever win in British Supersport.

“The Feature race was a different story, but the CF Motorsport team is working great, I am so happy to be part of it and I am sure there are more podiums to come.”

The Pacedayz Yamaha rider Currie is now fifth in the championship standings following two rounds, 34 points in arrears of title leader Andy Reid (Quattro Plant Cool Kawasaki).
