Dutch TT winner Jack Miller will remain in the Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS squad for the 2017 MotoGP season when he enters the final year of an elusive Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) contract.

Miller, 21, was spring-boarded direct from Moto3 to the premier division in 2015, bypassing Moto2 altogether. Staying put at Marc VDS will offer a sense of consistency after spending his maiden year at LCR.

The news of Miller’s ongoing deal at Marc VDS came just before his sensational first-career MotoGP race win in treacherous conditions at Assen, becoming the first non-factory rider to win in the elite ranks since 2006.

“All good here in the Marc VDS camp, they’ve given me the thumbs up, said the all-clear that we’re allowed to stay,” Miller confirmed on the Fox Sports pre-race coverage. “I must be doing something right, apart from crashing!

“They can see this project, as I’m getting back to 100 percent fitness and working with this Honda, I think they can see there’s a little bit of light at the end of the tunnel, so we’re all working toward the same goal here and they really like this project. I’m really happy to announce that – it’s one of the big things off my mind, that’s for sure.”

Following his glorious Assen result in which he bagged a full 25 points for the race victory, Miller has climbed all the way up to 13th in the standings as we approach the halfway mark of the 2016 season.
