X Games: Stewart out after shoulder injury in SuperMoto

Current AMA Supercross Champion James Stewart has been ruled out of this year’s X Games after colliding with the wall and suffering a shoulder injury during qualifying for tomorrow’s race.

The Yamaha rider qualified third for the event but has dropped out of the event in what would have been his first ever Supermoto race, also missing out on the Super X race scheduled for tomorrow.

Stewart’s injury will not require surgery, instead said to be a contusion that has limited movement due to the severity of the pain.

Last night marked Stewart’s official X Games debut in the Best Whip contest where he finished runner-up to Freestyle Motocross star Todd Potter, but that will be his lone medal in the prestigious action sports event.
